Intorduction of Colour
After reflecting on my previous paper research and the paper i decided on it became aparent that my book would be lacking in colour in terms of the presentation side of things. I re-accessed the situation and decided that it would be an idea to make a feature of each dividing page usings some type of paper craft method, this way i would be able to mount coloured paper on top of Ivory card, maintaining the thickness of the book but giving it a different element that previously wouldnt have been displayed.

Paper Types
The paper i will use to create my book from will have to be carefully considered to convey the correct mood and theme of my book. I had a look online at the different cards and thick paper that would be available to me (Osbourne Offices, Hoby Craft, WHSmith, Ryman, The Works). While looking there were a variety of different thick cards to chose from so i tried to narrow it down a little. I looked at finding a grey coloured card for the actual spreads and then black for the dividers but on reflection i think that to go with the theme this would not be the right thing to choose. Because of this i went on to look at the different types of parchment paper that were available to use to print the spreads onto.
When looking at the card and paper i had to make sure that they would be suitable for laser and/or ink jet printing as this is how my book will be printed.
Obviously before choosing my final selection of paper i will need to collect samples of each and see how well they go together, but based on this initial peice of research i have temporarily decided to go with: -
Spreads
-Ryman: Parchment Paper A4 90gsm 100 Sheets £6.29 (in either ivory or gold depending on how yellow the gold turns out to be)
Dividers
-Ryman: Art Card A4 160gsm 50 Sheets Black £6.99
Covers
-Ryman: Elle Erre Card 220gsm 450x640mm Cream £1.25 per sheet (to be cut down to size)

Beginning Developement
To start off the development section of my project the first thing I needed to address was the format of which my book would take. To decided this I researched into book design and then created my own possible designs taking reference to the ones found in the book 'Handmade Graphics" as well as using knowledge from my Industry Print class.
